No, this is not, as you might suspect, a come-hither look. Â She’s examining a bizarre skin condition on her shoulder. Â Don’t worry: she later learns that it’s nothing serious.
Probably the most compelling sketch backstory I’ve ever written.

So I did the quick sketch of the flask, didn’t really like it, and flipped the page. Â Did the even quicker sketch of the forlorn mountain man, didn’t really like it, and flipped the page. Â Then I went back and looked at the two together. Â Something seemed to match up, so I figured Photoshop should bring them together.

After the helmet question from yesterday’s sketch, I figured some actual faces were in order. Â So I just drew a few different versions, inspired by various photos.

Went to a surprise party tonight for a friend who has just finished law school like a champ. Â I can’t imagine putting myself through something like that. Â So cheers, Jason — enjoy that well-deserved drink! Â Oh, and then the months of agonizing bar prep…

Several sketches ago, I paid respect to “@thelonelypie” — and today it was time to do so once again. Â I didn’t know what to draw today, and he stepped in and supplied me with a bunch of really solid ideas. Â Unfortunately, they were all more complex than I had energy for. Â So instead, we have a little tribute to the man himself.

I have no explanation for these. Â I just kind of sat down and started doodling. Â How a gaunt weirdo, a tree, a crow and a jack-in-the-box fit together I have no idea.

Got sad news today of the loss of a fine man and great example to many.

A couple months ago, I was in Austria along with several good friends. Here are three of them, as photographed there by a fourth, the great Sarah Welch.  The likenesses are kinda iffy, but hey, it’s “Sketch 365,” not “Perfect Reproduction 365.”  Oh, and if the one in the center looks familiar…
