Another “grab-the-nearest-object” sketch.  This little thing has been instrumental to almost all of the prismacolor pencil drawings on this site.  In fact, this drawing itself was done with a prisma pencil, so I actually had to use this sharpener while drawing it.  Hey, I should have drawn the actual pencil inside it.  And then me holding that pencil in my hand.  And then my actual pencil drawing my own hand.  And then, inevitably, this.

Another lazy glassware sketch — but hey, good old reliable Mijares happy hour always does the trick.  Only problem here: the quick and sloppy attempt at salt on the rim looks more like dangerously broken glass.  Drink up!

Found this guy a few years back, either at a garage sale, or a thrift store or something.  All I remember is that I had to get him because the character design was so cool.  The actual toy is much cooler than the drawing; I love the fabric and color choices.  (Here he is in real life, for comparison.)  Somewhere along the way, I decided he looked like a Pedro — and the name stuck.

July 16: the long-awaiting opening day of “Inception.”  After seeing the 10 a.m. showing, my wife and I were talking about it all day.  I suppose it’s not surprising then, that at the end of the day, this is the sketch that came out of my brain.

Got a sneak preview tonight of another upcoming creativity project — one that required me to break these out.  I like what I’m hearing, and hopefully before long you’ll see it appearing in the list of links on the right…

I have failed you, loyal reader.  Sure, I drew a cool, refreshing mai tai — but did I complete the pun hat trick by also sketching “my tie” and “muay thai?”  I did not.  And now it’s too late.  I leave Hawaii in disgrace.

Just bought my wife of these great mixers.  Of course, this “gift” is a lot like when Homer buys Marge a bowling ball with “Homer” inscribed on it.  But if you’ve enjoyed her excellent baked goods, you’ll know why I’d want to encourage their regular production.

Okay, so — the first person who can correctly identify what this thing does wins…oh, say, a dollar.  Wait, this may be super-easy.  This could be an ill-conceived contest…
