Wanted to do a simple graphic element today. Â Seemed a good fit for the white charcoal as well. Â Plus, who doesn’t love Don Johnson? Â Oh, right — most people.

I have no explanation for these. Â I just kind of sat down and started doodling. Â How a gaunt weirdo, a tree, a crow and a jack-in-the-box fit together I have no idea.

They met on the set of High School Musical! Â It was supposed to the fantasy romance for the ages! Â Oh, cruel world!

You know it’s a good day when you can spend a large chunk of it playing with LEGO. I definitely find that the more you play with LEGO, the greater respect you have for the amazing design behind it. Maybe that’s what inspired this goofy little sketch.

I was reading something this evening about Egypt, and the location was somehow stuck in my mind when it came time for today’s drawing.

Just finished watching what is probably the most powerfully affecting documentary (maybe even film of any kind) that I’ve ever seen: Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father.  A traumatic film, not for the faint of heart.  I don’t even really know what more to say about it — just feeling very emotionally drained.  Not knowing what to draw this evening, I made this quick sketch based on the well done movie poster by Evan B. Harris (more of  his work here).

Did I mention that I need to go to bed earlier? Â This is about how I felt while doing tonight’s super-quick sketch before bed.

This was me after getting home from work today. Â I woke up a while later, and did this quick sketch while I still had a sliver of energy. Â I need to start going to bed earlier.

Tried something different this evening — wanted to see if I could do a bunch of different animals in a cohesive style. Â These are just basic characterizations, but it would be interesting to try some other animals or people as well and see how that would work.

It’s been a long time since I last played Pictionary.  So this evening, I decided to grab a card and see if I could draw all five things on it in one sketch.  So, for your viewing pleasure, here’s a 1) Ragged 2) Lawyer 3) Choking on a 4) Pop Tart while on a 5) Maiden Voyage.
