#211 – Special Delivery
At work, I’ve returned to the animation project I was working on, and have been sketching a few more storyboard frames. Â Here, the orbiter comes back to Earth, to drop off a sample of material collected on Mars. Â Of course, the drawing is nothing special, but the accomplishment it represents sure would be something.

#208 – Pageant of the Just-Plain-Mundane
#193 – Maria Plain & Tall
The view from our hotel balcony looks out over a big open field, adjacent to which sits this church. Â Not a fancy or ornate building, but when the sun hits it in the morning, it’s blindingly bright. Â It also rings bells throughout the day and plays “Ave Maria” every day at 6 p.m. Â Nice if you like that sort of thing, but I imagine if you lived there, the novelty would soon fade.

#189 – Nice set of wheels
#188 – Schloss Neuschwanstein
My wife and I have a friend who loves castles — particularly Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria.  Today, we had reason to give her a card, but we didn’t have many on hand.  Then I struck upon the idea of sketching this on a piece of paper and folding it into a card.  Thankfully it was a hit!

#186 – Castles in the Skye
This is a quick little pencil-and-brush-pen sketch based on a photo I took a couple years ago on a visit to the Isle of Skye. Eilean Donan Castle, to be specific. You can Google it if you want to check my work. But you probably shouldn’t do that. Let’s just pretend it looks exactly like this.

#182 – Bounding ahead
Hard to believe, but I’m just about to cross the halfway mark –Â thanks for the support, everyone!

P.S. – Sketch confessional: after my first pass at the hair, I had to get out the eraser to make the hairline a little more accurate. Didn’t want anyone to call me out on it.
#177 – Duplo duplex
So my friend and former workmate Stephenie was kind enough to leave behind a box of Duplo at work. Â I figured it was time to build something and do a quick sketch of it. Â So what to build with a limited amount of Duplo? Â Well, this is what you get when you let the wordplay dictate the design process: a pretty ugly “Duplo duplex” (complete with cubist palm tree in the front yard)!
